Grady had spent most of her life in sunny Queensland with her family the Atkinsons before it was decided that she really needed to be shown. She was almost 5 years old and her mother had been retired from a successful show career so it was decided to fly her down and try to get her title. Six weeks later she was an Australian Champion and a Group and Reserve Best in Group winner. She continued to go from strength to strength and in just over 18 months gained her Australian GRAND Championship title!  She has given so much of her heart every time she has entered the ring. We are extremely proud of her Best in Show, Reserve Best in Show, Best in Group and Reserve Best in Group wins.  Her BOB win at Melbourne Royal gave us such a thrill and when she finished 2011 as Australias Number One Irish Setter (Dogzonline Breed Point Score) we were over the moon.

Grady gained the qualifying challenge Certificate for her Supreme Championship at her first available chance on July 7th, Grants Birthday. What a gift that was and what a gift she has been to all of us.

Lacey gained her title on Friday morning 6/7/12 with a 9 pt BOB under gundog specialist Fay Harris at Alice Springs Kennel and dog Sports Club. Her Supreme title certificate was issued that day.

Lacey had a stellar career winning 6 Best in Show, 1 Best in Specialty Show an 14 Runner up Best in Show. We are very proud of Lacey’s achievements in the show ring and in the whelping box. Her first litter produced the multi best in show winners Rosie and Ned. Her last litter produced Bluey who is currently No.1 all breeds rising star for the Northern Territory and last weekend won 6 puppy in group and 2 puppy in show

Sadly, the Irish Setter fraternity, and the dog world in general, has lost a gentleman …  very much a gentle man.   He wore a constant smile and was famous for his very dry wit, his generosity and extremely easy manner.  

Keith’s double lung transplant in early 2011 allowed us all new hope, only for him to succumb to both chronic and acute rejection on 4 July 2012.

Keith’s passing is a great loss to his many friends

-  for his wife, Diane and sons Paul & Gavan, and his family, the loss is immeasurable.

7.10 Supreme Champion (10/11)

a) Using the points system as approved by the ANKC Ltd at the time, an animal will be required to attain the following qualifications to be eligible to the title of Supreme Champion.

1,000 points, including 3 All Breeds Best in Shows; or 10 Best in Group/Specialty Best in Show.

Either 3 different Best in Show Judges or 10 different Best in Group/Specialty judges must be submitted, there can be no repeated judges.

b) The implementation date for the awarding of the title of Supreme Champion be 1 July 2012.

c) A Supreme Championship will not be awarded to animals retrospectively, but an animal will be eligible to be awarded the title of Supreme Champion, if they gain some points towards the title of Supreme Champion (1000 points) after the
implementation date of the 1 July 2012.
