WHEATLEY Irish Setters
Ch Eireannmada Allouetta
Michael & Tricia Wheatley’s involvement in Irish Setters in Australia dates back to the 1970’s when they imported Rue, Fondador Eleanor (Imp UK).
Top breeder, Keith McCarthy (Taraglen Irish Setters) leased Rue for some litters which were important cornerstones to his Taraglen lines.
From one of those breedings, the Wheatley’s Taraglen Flair became a champion and along the way garnered some wonderful wins, including Best Opposite Sex in Show in 1981 at the Irish Setter Club of Victoria’s Championship Specialty Show. This was in the era when the breed logged huge entries at Championship Show level.
Tricia also enjoyed a very successful obedience career with another bitch from Marigold Kennels
In 2002 Tricia & Mike became more involved in Conformation when they acquired Prim, Ch Pendoric Pure Mayhem

With the show bug well and truly caught, the Wheatley’s then became proud owners of Ch Eireannmada Allouetta.
Co-owned with breeder Greg Browne, Allie enjoyed a very successful show career with many In Group and In Show awards to her credit.
She was particularly admired by many irish setter breeders in Australia and overseas as she was typey, sound and very pretty.
