Judge’s Profile:

Sandy purchased her first Irish Setter in 1967, and today still has descendants from her foundation litter. Sandy has bred 13 Irish Setter champions (and also 42 champions in her two other breeds).

Sandy obtained her judging licence in 1998 and has judged 13 Irish Setter specialties. She is a breed mentor for the Irish Setter Club of America; Secretary of the Irish Setter Club of America Foundation and is a member of its Health Committee. She has regularly presented breed seminars on behalf of the ISCA to local judge groups and dog clubs, and was the liaison officer for the USA Irish Setter Genetic Registry. In 2001, Sandy was awarded the E I Eldredge Memorial Award, the ISCA’s highest service award to a member.

In addition, Sandy was one of the founding members of the Sporting Dog Club in the 1970s and has maintained her involvement with the Club, regularly judging and presenting seminars.

Sandy has agreed to give a presentation to members on health issues affecting Irish Setters, and has offered to speak about American Irish Setters of special interest to members or which have been influential in Australian breeding programmes.

Sandy has also accepted our invitation to join ISCV Inc. members for dinner, probably on the evening of Saturday 3 November 2012 and we are hoping to arrange her presentation to take place immediately before the dinner.

Sandy will be hosted by Committee member, Diane Anderson.
